Well I took the plunge and creates some test kindle books to see how easy the whole process was.
I have to say it's not as scary or complicated as I thought it was going to be, so now my head is swimming with ideas for kindle books.
I think the 'how to' kindle market will keep on growing, so maybe that will be my main focus for the time being.
However, my genius son, aged 9, (but of course I am going to be biased), has a wonderful imagination, and over the past year or so has come up with a series of made up stories about a bumbling head teacher, and I am seriously thinking of publishing these stories as a series.
Now being a 9 year old boy, you can imagine his stories are full of slapstick comedy, and boarder on the macabre to say the least. In the beginning his main character usually ends up killing himself in a variety of ways, quite by accident of course, but like all good fictional cartoon characters somehow manages to be very much alive in time for the next istallment!
I don't know if there is much on the kindle for boys aged 7+ at the moment, but it's certainly worth me investigating.
The kindle appeals to adults, but I think there could be a market for kids there, especially ones who like gadgets such as the DS etc. It would also be a great way to encourage them to read, even if it's not quite the same as picking up a book!
